The children of Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are reportedly “obseꜱꜱed with Wrexham”

In a recent episode of “Welcome to Wrexham,” released on November 7, 2023, Ryan Reynolds, aged 47, shared a heartwarming insight into his family life with Blake Lively and their three children, James (8), Inez (7), and Betty (3), along with their newest addition, an undisclosed fourth child born in February. The actor highlighted how his offspring have developed a profound interest in his involvement with the Wrexham football club.

Reynolds fondly reminisced about his own connection with his father, primarily centered around their shared passion for sports. He stated, “My relationship with my father was almost exclusively tethered and held together by our mutual love of sports.” Drawing a parallel, he revealed, “My kids are obsessed with Wrexham. They’re obsessed with Wrexham.”

This affection for Wrexham was particularly evident in the eldest child, James, who recently expressed her adoration for the club during a previous episode of “Welcome to Wrexham.” In a heartwarming moment, Reynolds took his 8-year-old daughter to Wales to witness a football match, marking her rare appearance at a game last January. Although James’s face remained blurred when shown on camera, viewers could witness Reynolds celebrating each time Wrexham scored a goal, embracing his daughter with joy.

The most recent episode of the FX docuseries primarily delved into the familial dynamics within Wrexham AFC. It featured the co-chairman, Ryan Reynolds, and his mother, Tammy Reynolds, who shared heartfelt memories of her late husband, James Chester Reynolds, who succumbed to Parkinson’s disease in 2015.

The show also spotlighted Rob McElhenney, Wrexham’s fellow co-chairman, and his family members. While McElhenney’s father made an earlier appearance in the season, this time, the episode introduced McElhenney’s mother, Helena McElhenney, and her wife, Mary Taylor.

Ollie Palmer, a Wrexham player, and his father, Andy Palmer, took center stage in the episode, shedding light on the strong bond between sports and family. Additionally, the CEO of Wrexham, Fleur Robinson, and her father, Ben Robinson, made appearances, emphasizing the generational aspects of the club’s experiences.

The episode captured the sentiment that sports provide a constant, safe haven for familial connections. McElhenney, aged 46, expressed, “This is a generational experience, and there are so many things we inherit and pass on. When I think about this experience with Wrexham, I try to think of all the wonderful things that were passed down to me and I try to take the best parts of those things and give those to my children.”

In a delightful turn, Kaitlin Olson, aged 48, made an appearance in the second episode of “Welcome to Wrexham,” joined by her husband Rob McElhenney and their “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” co-stars Charlie Day and Glenn Howerton. They watched with excitement as Wrexham triumphed over Yeovil Town with a 3-0 victory, marking the team’s journey toward promotion to the English Football League.

In an exciting twist for Wrexham fans, the club was promoted to the EFL for the first time in 15 years in April. “Welcome to Wrexham” continues to captivate viewers with new episodes premiering on FX every Tuesday, providing a heartwarming glimpse into the intersection of family, sports, and community.
