Prue Leith reveals that Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are avid fans of the “Great British Bake Off” and made a surprise visit to the set. During an interview with E! News published on November 10, the 83-year-old judge of the culinary series shared the delightful experience of having the Hollywood couple on set.
Leith disclosed that Lively, 36, and Reynolds, 47, expressed their keen interest in the show and decided to visit when they learned the series was being filmed on the same studio lot where Reynolds was working on “Deadpool.” Breаking the cardinal rule of the show, which prohibits strangers from entering the tent, the couple arrived unannounced, defying the norm.
According to Leith, the crew made a special exception for the celebrity duo, who visited the famous dessert tent in the U.K. in June, as evidenced by their social media accounts. Despite the usual strict adherence to the rule of keeping outsiders away, the crew was thrilled to have the A-list couple in their midst, pausing all filming to chat with them.
The unexpecteԀ connection fostered a friendly relationship between the Bake Off team and Lively and Reynolds, leading to multiple visits by the couple to the set. The camaraderie even resulted in a collaboration between Lively and fellow judge Paul Hollywood. Lively featured Hollywood in a commercial for her Betty Buzz Betty Bооze collection during the summer, a collaboration that surprised Leith. She humorously expressed disappointment in not getting to do a commercial with Reynolds himself, as he managed to partner with Lively.
The bond between Hollywood and Lively was hinted at earlier in June when Hollywood shared a photo from the actress’s time in England, playfully teasing Prue Leith about Lively taking her seat in the tent. Reynolds, in his social media post, included Hollywood and Leith, describing their interaction as a “full and unconditional hug of pure serotonin.” The dynamic baking duo’s hangout with the Hollywood power couple showcased the crossroads of celebrity fandom and the world of baking.
