Blake Lively’s Playful Gesture to Will Ferrell in Spirited Draws Hilarious Response from Ryan Reynolds

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, known for their witty banter and humorous exchanges, took their comedic dynamic to a new level during the making of the 2022 Christmas movie, Spirited, where Ryan stars alongside Will Ferrell in a modern twist on the classic tale A Christmas Carol.

To celebrate the film’s re-release in theaters and its ongoing holiday promotion on Apple TV+, tap dancer Chloe Arnold shared a behind-the-scenes clip, shedding light on the actors’ musical comedy preparations for the movie. In the video, Ryan, 47, discloses an unexpecteԀ and amusing gift from his wife, Blake, 36, to Will, 56—a pair of transparent jelly shoes with taps attached. Ryan jokingly remarks, “My wife gave Will jelly tap shoes.”

Despite already wearing shoes, Will decides to try on the jelly tap shoes, leading to a comical mishap when the taps come off after just one routine. Undeterred, Will styles out the situation by wearing socks with the damaged shoes. Ryan humorously comments, “That is spectacular. The socks, they really bring the whole look together.”

In a confessional moment, Ryan playfully asserts, “Making someone wear jelly tap shoes is аssаult, I think. In several states, of course, it’s legal. But Will being Will…put them right on and went and did a little number.” As the taps detach during Will’s performance, he feigns frustration, exclaiming, “Jelly taps!” before walking away.

Amused by the entire exchange, Blake shares the clip on her Instagram Stories with the caption, “Claim to fаme!” Fans join in the laughter, expressing their love for the movie in the comments and appreciating the humor injected into the behind-the-scenes moments.

In a November 2022 interview with E! News, Will Ferrell acknowledged the incident, explaining, “I had seen that Blake had been photographed wearing and bringing back jellies, and then she made me jelly tap shoes that I tried to rehearse in. Then they immediately disintegrated.”

Choreographer Chloe Arnold confirms the hilarious moment, recalling, “There was this hilarious moment when Ryan pulls out a pair of shoes to gift to Will, and I was like, ‘Why is he gifting him? We have shoes.’ They are a pair of jellies with taps on them. Of course, Will puts them on, and after about two steps, the jellies fall apart, the taps fall apart.” The unexpecteԀ gift turned out to be a memorable and entertaining highlight from the making of Spirited.
