There is a lot for 21 Savage to be proud of at the moment. This is primarily due to the fact that American Dream, his most impressive studio album thus far, may have recently been released. His forthcoming movie American Dream: The 21 Savage Story had it in mind as its original music. In case you were wondering, that will be released on July 4th. But the film and this album are unrelated since this is his third studio album as a solo artist.
The playlist is fantastic all the way through and will keep you entertained no matter what. Perhaps the most energizing tune is “née-nah.” With production from Metro Boomin—21’s most prolific producer—and, perhaps, his most valuable collaborator, Travis Scott, this has everything a fan could want. The thunderous beat goes wonderfully with the fantastic sample flip of “About Her” by Maclom McLaren.
In terms of performance, Travis starts things off with an infectious, auto-tune-free flow. The gritty quality is just right thanks to his hoarse, husky voice. 21’s infamous savage poetry expertly closes out the second half. Now that we’ve heard another great collaboration from them, we really need an album from them. Following “Ghostface Killers,” “Niagara Falls,” and “out for the night, (part 2),” the list proceeds with “née-nah.”
