Wiz Khalifa shares his admiration for Max B, highlighting him as a key inspiration in shaping his unique rap style

It’s no secret that Wiz Khalifa loves Max B. In a new interview, he talked more about why he likes the Harlem rapper so much.

This week, the CEO of Taylor Gang was on Mike Tyson’s Hot Boxin show. Co-host DJ Whoo Kid asked him why Biggavel is one of his heroes, and the CEO gave more than one reason.”I love the way Max B acts,” Wiz started. “He had a really dope, straight-up confidence.” That made me look up. I admire his tunes, and I like how he mixed them with rap. And how consistent he is. Before he went to jail, this guy had about 28 mixtapes. At that point in my life, I thought, “Man, I’m trying that hard too.” I also want to be in people’s faces.

 

 

“That’s how sure I am about my music too,” he said. He was still a hidden artist, but people like Curren$y, myself, and a few others were really drawn to him and saw the polish in everything.

Max B has been in jail since 2009, which is when Wiz was just starting out in the music business. But French Montana says that his Coke Wave partner will finally be home this month.

The rapper from Harlem is said to have planned to rob two men at a Holiday Inn in New Jersey in 2006 with his stepbrother Kelvin Leerdam and his ex-girlfriend Gina Conway. One of the guys was shot and killed during the failed theft.Max’s sentence was cut from life to 20 years in September 2016 after he agreed to plead guilty to aggravated murder. In 2019, his time was cut even shorter to 12 years for reasons that were not made public.
